We’re a group of conservation volunteers in Porirua.

A group of people seated around a large conference table in an office meeting room. They are casually dressed and appear to be engaged in a conversation or meeting. The room has bulletin boards with pictures and notes on the walls, a clock, and several large windows.

We're doing our bit to achieve the Predator Free 2050 vision by removing key predators (rats, stoats, and possums) and restoring habitats to help our native wildlife thrive again.

What we do

  • Three people in a garage working on a wooden box with a metal mechanism, surrounded by tools and equipment.

    Backyard and reserve trapping

We train and coordinate volunteers to create a growing network of traps across Porirua to protect our native taonga.

  • Group of people wearing orange safety vests standing outdoors with shopping carts, trash bags, and traffic cones, likely participating in a community cleanup event.

    Community education and engagement

We share our conservation kaupapa at schools, community groups, and events, and support community planting and clean-up days. Have an idea?

Who we are

We’re people who love Porirua, and want to see it thriving with native wildlife again.

We come from all walks of life, with different skills, interests, and backgrounds. We’d love you to get involved too.

Together, we could create the world’s-first Predator-Free region.
